Computing in General I enjoy the challenge to assimulate and use new knowledge. I have been using Calculating and Computing machines since the early 1950's in the Gunnery Environment of the Royal Navy. I saw the change over from Analogue to Digital Computing in the Weapon Systems of Ships of the Fleet. I served in ships with Semi and Fully integrated Computer Operational and Warfare Control systems. I went back to school to take a formal Certification in Computing and Management Information Systems and am a Corporate member of the Chartered Managers Institute. Sail TrainingI became involved in the reconstruction of the British Brig ASTRID in 1987 and saw her completed, rising through the different grades to Chief Officer when she was in Home Waters. Acting as back up while she was sailing the Atlantic for ten years before she was unfortunately sold back to the Dutch from whence she came and now I sail as Sailing Master of the Sea Cadet Brig ROYALIST as well as several Yachts engaged in Sail Training. Recently Assembling the Sea Cadet Mini Brig T.S. BOB ALLEN and puttingher into Commission. Back to Top |
